Malin

Right wrong or not it seems Malin is in the news. Another walkout by alderman against any action again shows lack of professionalism in our city council. Since accountability in local or any other government is almost non-existant without a public uproar it will be interesting to see where this goes. The previous walkout was over the non-existant rain water run-off tax. This walkout was about a public official lining his own pockets with our tax monies. I don't understand how people can even compare the two. If you want to read the QC Times article on Malin go to the story.

You are right. There is no comparison.

Craig Malin is an educated public official that knew what he was doing and hoped to sneak something by unnoticed.

You're probably right qci, but I do remember it had something to do a Winborn veto. I feel this last walkout is do the Tuna brigade can regroup before they face another angry mob. The rumors already out there that if council votes to fire Malin the mayor will veto that also.

Colonel I guess I should have said it appears this walkout was about a public official lining his pockets. I'm just really amused at how childish this council has been acting. I think it's wrong to keep people waiting for a meeting to start that was going to be cancelled.

I agree with you 100% about the childish thing, and that goes for all 11 of the elected officials, even the ones I like.

This is becoming our new local version of a filibuster, and I don't think its something we need in city politics.
