I changed things around a bit, and added a few things. It's as new to me as it is to you, but I think it'll work. As usual I'll try to have a variety of topics, but come summer there will be more postings about car events. You can email me at cruisaholic@hotmail.com Keep the shiny side up!

As I see it

I have voted no for four year terms, did my volunteer stint at the Bix Fest Sunday afternoon at the gate, and was on a roof for four hours and a ladder for two yesterday. Someone posted on another blog that we lost a potential employer SOLO. Davenport also lost the Nascar track to Newton, and the hog plant to accross the river. While I think renovating the building at 4th and Brady is ok I don't think it's necessary. While we had a slight raise in population, less than 1%, the occupancy rate of rental property is supposed to around 65%. Houses are sitting on the market longer and trend seems to be heading towards a price drop.

The Bix Fest attendance was down, at least Sunday and it makes one wonder, of course the heat played a big part in this. Could it also have been the $12 admission per set cost, the speed and radar cameras, the no free parking, bad roads in general, the unchanged music venue?

And again, I'm not against everything I just state what I see. I'm a realist not an againster.

I don't believe renovation is necessary, I believe demolition is.
