I changed things around a bit, and added a few things. It's as new to me as it is to you, but I think it'll work. As usual I'll try to have a variety of topics, but come summer there will be more postings about car events. You can email me at cruisaholic@hotmail.com Keep the shiny side up!

Differences

As I keep hearing more people talking about the mess concerning Malin I thought I would make a couple observations. First, I think he is an intelligent person. That shouldn't surprise anyone. But I believe there are two very different forms of intelligence out there. One is obvious, hit the books. The other is street smarts. The two rarely meet. There are a few educated persons out there who have absolutely no social graces or common sense. These are usually people who put themselves on pedestals and believe they are superior to us mere mortals. Because of this when things get out of hand they either falter or act insulted. Most people with street sense however think fast on their feet and do well in stressful situations. While Malin dishes out a bunch of fancy words that don't mean anything to the average Joe, the average Joe could say the same thing, in a way that everyone could understand. Just so I'm understood here I'm not getting down on Malin or certain members of the city council. I'm trying to describe what I believe our differences are. It doesn't make one better that the other, just different.

The other thing is, people who make alot of money think different than us blue-collar people. Most seem to put in more hours than an average Joe. And that's fine. I know several wealthy people who basically gave up their family life to get where they are. Again that's their choice. My family will always come first. I'm a firm believer in personal freedom. If you want to work 70 hours a week to live in a fancy neighborhood, go for it, I'll stay where I am thank you. If you're doing your own thing and nobody's getting hurt, it's not illegal, and you're not trying to borrow money from me, more power to you.

If there is fault found I don't believe Malin should give the money to charity but back to the city. If no fault is found I believe he's owed an apology. I don't care which way it goes as long as our city leaders can learn to work together without giving comedic fodder to the local press. If they can't I think more safeguards should be in place for removal from office.

You have to stay in the SAME room before you can work together!!!

When they get together now they try to swing at each other. I'll bet they're in a good mood after citizens get their 5 minutes tommorrow, if they let them talk.
