George Ryan was found guilty, of course he looks like a crook. How long a sentence can he get in his 70's. If he gets 20 years, even with good behavior time he probably won't live to complete it. This is one time I honestly believe they got the right guy.

Seems assessed value on our property taxes went up again. If they keep raising it we'll have to move into a tent. We bought this house in 1994, and the assessment has more than doubled. It would be nice if we could sell it for the city says it's worth. Oh well, that's fodder for another day.

Over Easter dinner I brought up that while our gas useage on our last bill went down, our electrical went up. It would be nice if they would just tell us that we are paying for the people that can't. I thought with the warm winter we would catch a break, but they were ahead of me again. If I wasn't so centrally located I would put up a windmill and make my own electricity. Then again, maybe I could dig a trench, catch all the rain and harnass the power of home grown electic eels. Might be a good theft deterent too.
