Last year we got my wife a new Taurus. It was the last year for this make at Ford with the Fusion being it's replacement. A while back Ford sent her an offer of a $50 gift card to test drive the new Fusion. Makes sense as an incentive to test drive, but I wonder if the sales are up because of it. Personally, I think it's one of the ugliest cars to come down the pike in some time.
The 22nd. of this month is the first cruise-in of the year. It will be at Southpark between Dillard's and Long John Silver's. Starts at 6:00 p.m. and runs until at least 9:00 p.m. Let's hope the weather co-operates. This event is hosted by the Quad Cities Cruisers.
Rumors are that the new Camaro will be built in Australia by GM's Holden division. That's also where the bodies for the short lived new GTO's came from. Anyway, if the Camaro is built in Australia, would it be considered and import?
I've noticed with the warm weather comes the car stereo mobile concerts in the SOLO area. Around our house they seem to start around 10:00 p.m. and continue for longer than I like. Since the Police won't be chasing cars, or catching speeders, maybe they could look into catching these rolling noise polluters.
I changed things around a bit, and added a few things. It's as new to me as it is to you, but I think it'll work. As usual I'll try to have a variety of topics, but come summer there will be more postings about car events. You can email me at cruisaholic@hotmail.com Keep the shiny side up!

The big three all use import motors in their small cars and trucks, so the reliability is there. I think what is lacking is a quality product at a decent price. American cars have always had problems with fit and finish. I don't see the Fusion as a savior for Ford either. To me it just looks like an uglified Taurus. The only thing saving Ford right now is the Mustang and pick-up.
