Downtown Davenport scores

Well I have to admit downtown Davenport scored a big one, and this one will get me down to the River Music Experience. The Flying Eyeball Reunion has changed hotels. They moved from 53rd. street to none other than Howard Johnson's on 3rd. and LeClaire St. Friday August 18, registration will start at noon in the Howard Johnson lobby and run until 6 p.m. From 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Wizz magazine feature cars will be parked in front of the RME and the street will be blocked. From 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. there will be a street dance and concert at the RME and from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m. the Howlin' at the Moon party will be Howard Johnson's Hotel Patio.

Saturday August 19 starts with registration at 8 a.m., at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds. Activies will run until 10:30 p.m. Then back to Howard Johnson's patio from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m. for the Howlin' at the Moon Party again. During the day there will be panel jams by the best pinstripers in the business, an english wheel demonstration, the Quad City Hot Rod & Custom Car Hall of fame Induction and Banquet, and live music from 8:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Sunday August 20 starts with an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast starting at 8 a.m., another panel jam, Luncheon Serenade (live music) from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and ending at around 2 p.m. with the Pinstriper & Dangerous Art Auction and Recognition ceremony. I am told by the Wizz himself that this is a do not miss event. Even if you could care less about cars the street dance downtown in combination with the concert should prove interesting.
