One of my favorite law enforcers has died. Blackie Strout was Sheriff from 1964-1973. Everyone I've talked to today thought he was older. So rest in peace my friend.
I want to do a quick update on the Flying Eyeball events for tomorrow. I was going to wait until after I registered but here goes. The feature cars will be on display from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., on 2nd. Street in front of the RME. The street dance is supposed to be on the west side of RME from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., and the band will be the One Night Standards.
Just a quick thank you to QCI for adding my link to his blog.
I changed things around a bit, and added a few things. It's as new to me as it is to you, but I think it'll work. As usual I'll try to have a variety of topics, but come summer there will be more postings about car events. You can email me at cruisaholic@hotmail.com Keep the shiny side up!

Blackie was a great gentleman. My grandparents lived by him and when I was a little kid he gave me an official sheriff's badge which I still have today. Rest in peace.
As far as I'm concerned Blackie was one the best Sheriff's we ever had. He would take the time to talk to you even if you weren't politically connected.
Nitrous I'll be there in my F-100. I'm going down to the hotel to register today. I usually don't pre-register for this show but too many people are bugging me and I run out of excuses not to. If you see my mostly black pick-up with slotted mags and big and littles, look me up.
