Cruising season is getting closer every day. The first cruise-in of the year is slated for April 22nd. at Southpark by Dillard's. Starts at 6:00 p.m. Seems like every year I tell myself I'm going to be ready, but I'm not. I just need a kick start anymore to get things done on the cars. A lot of time is taken up by picking up trash in the alley and the street. Being a home owner, a lot more time is taken up by small repairs and maintainance. Then when I get those done, it's the bushes and lawn that need attention. If it wasn't for the stormwater tax, I would pave my entire lot, and paint certain areas green. Then I could get out to my shop and concentrate on getting more done on the cars.
As I get older I've been noticing that having an iquiring mind takes time also. If you want to know whats really going on you have to go the meetings. Club meetings, City Council meetings, Ward meetings, informational meetings; it's a vicious circle. The second part of the equation is that when we attend some meetings, we get asked to volunteer. Man I hate this part. Every time I've been suckered into this, it's the same small percentage of the people who attend any meeting who will volunteer for anything. I'm going to have to remember what I learned in the Navy; Navy, never again volunteer yourself.
I changed things around a bit, and added a few things. It's as new to me as it is to you, but I think it'll work. As usual I'll try to have a variety of topics, but come summer there will be more postings about car events. You can email me at cruisaholic@hotmail.com Keep the shiny side up!
