Chicago, court, and car shows

Chicago Ald. Arenda Troutman (20th) was arrested this morning in
connection with federal corruption charges. For the details, such as they are, go
here.

Cassandra Bacon goes to court today for child endangerment in the death of her infant. The shooting victim is still in hospital, someone will have to pay the property he destroyed. I doubt Terrell Lillybridge has a driver's license or insurance, which means the citizen's get screwed again for choosing to live SoLo.

January 19, 20, 21 there's an indoor car show at the Expo Center in Rock Island. The Detroit Auto Show is going. Chevy has the Camaro convertible concept while Ford has the Interceptor, among others. Sorry Ford, a four door with 22 inch wheels doesn't say muscle car to me.

The Federal Citizen Information Center updated it's recall list, and it's pretty long. Everything from Mercedes, to Christmas Beagles, to Dewalt tools. for the entire list go to the FCIC Recalls page.

Corruption in Chicago, now that almost surprises me. Not! Is there any more crooked region in the state of Illinois? I Love this line from the article “Between 1972 and 1999, an average of one alderman a year was convicted of wrongdoing.” Like that even made a dent in the corruption. The corruption has been there longer than I have been alive. I feel the Chicago corruption has as much to do with the states problem with crooked governors as anything else. A Gov wannabe has got to have those Chicago connections if he wants elected. That means getting your hands dirty in Chicago’s dirty laundry. Those jokers sent me a ticket through the mail one time and I had not even been in the city for over two years. They were less than thrilled with the note I sent them back when I refused to pay for something I did not do. I was threatened with prosecution but nothing ever come from their threats.

I agree. I just thought it was unusual that it made the news. We've done construction work up there for many years, off and on, and sometimes it's a joke trying to get things run through the city. Plus the south side is such an enjoyable area to work in at times.
