crime fighting

Chief Bladel addressed the growing crime problem at the city council meeting last night. The plan he proposed sounds like a very good start, and the city council seems to be making a earnest effort to find the money to fund this phase of it. If you want to see the story go to the story. Chief Bladel explained that juvenile court is a revolving door for offenders. I agree, but to take it a step further, I think adult court is the same way. Many adult offenders get suspended sentences and fines. The Judges say their hands are tied by the language of the law. Then let's change the laws. We need to send a message that this sort of behavior is unacceptable. People put the blame on Chief Bladel, or the city council, but doesn't it really belong to us. We have let our city get this way, and we should all make an effort to fix the problem.
