I changed things around a bit, and added a few things. It's as new to me as it is to you, but I think it'll work. As usual I'll try to have a variety of topics, but come summer there will be more postings about car events. You can email me at cruisaholic@hotmail.com Keep the shiny side up!

the weekend

I had a weekend like I haven't had in quite a while. A friend talked me into going up on the Skybridge, I didn't like it. Since in rained Friday night the street dance was inside RME and my son talked me into going in, I did like RME with two bands going. As with these yearly gatherings I learned who got ran into and sidelined, who died, who is going to die, and who had babies. I even picked up some work during the busy weekend. The only thing that never ceases to amaze me is that there is next to no media coverage. This event featured a million dollars plus in cars, pinstripers from all over the U.S., and people with ready cash to spend.

This wasn't or ever was about numbers. As the Wiz told us- it's not about making money, it's about having fun. I also know the person who got inducted in the Quad Cities Hot Rod Hall of Fame, and I can only say it's about time. There were stories at every car, or truck, and all anyone had to do was ask. I found out old hosipal urinals can be used for air cleaners, some hot sounding cars can pop wheelies, and the hobby is alive and well. And to the young man who stopped at my truck with several questions, there are no dumb questions, keep asking.
