The city council wants 4 year terms and rig a special election in mid-July so they can make for sure their ringers vote when citizen apathy is at it's highest. $2,000 payroll for police to stop people from crossing the Bix at 6 route to get to their homes every week. The sale of land at a loss in Prairie Heights at a loss, and the no-sale of commercial lots. Crime rates up higher than the national average, again.
Before the city council proposed this latest non-issue they should have taken a course in etiquette and common sense. The sad thing is it will probably pass because of voters thinking "what's the use?". It would be interesting to get a straight answer about who foots the bill for police presense during the Bix practice runs. And since the runners are visitors in our neighborhood every week, they could have the common sense to wait until 6 to start. As for our police chief, he won't admit to any crime in Davenport anyway.
That being said I'm going to get ready for the Maid-Rite cruise Saturday night and jar my fillings on the rough streets.
I changed things around a bit, and added a few things. It's as new to me as it is to you, but I think it'll work. As usual I'll try to have a variety of topics, but come summer there will be more postings about car events. You can email me at cruisaholic@hotmail.com Keep the shiny side up!

Cruiser, Are you ever happy? Have you ever been content with anything? It sure doesn't seem like it.
I have a smile on my face all the time. When people push issues in my face, as the city council has done, I react. I also realize my opinions are not popular, but I am not going to lie about my take on an issue to make everyone else happy. And my dry sense of humor is hard for people to read.
I don't think the land out there was sold for a loss over what they bought it for, but it was probably sold for less than it could have gone for.
You're right QCI, I should have said for less than it's worth.
