thanks for the links! I liked the Teddy one. He hit the nail one the head. My forebears gave up their language in public, and because of WWI & II, even in private. It took awhile, but assimilation is a necessary component for us to all become Americans together.
I couldn't agree more. Even thought the quote is over 80 years old, I feel it probably aplies more today.
