Crime

Seems to be a lot of talk about crime buzzing around; the poor get away with it, the Police don't enforce it, you know the drill. The problem, I believe is many sided. Yes the poor, seem to get away with it because no one holds them responsible. The Police make judgement calls because if they do arrest them, the judges let the people go. No accountability. The Senate and House won't toughen up the laws to keep these idiots out of the publics way. And I also believe that public apathy and just plain laziness of the citizens adds to the mix. How many people go to city hall for a meeting, or vote for that matter?
There are people that are making a difference in their neighborhoods out there, but for the most voluneers are few indeed. People will come to meetings but the minute they're asked to help, they are gone.
I am a firm believer in bringing back the Bible, prayer in school, on a volunary basis of course, the family unit who set down to dinner as a family, and capital punishment. I know it doesn't sound like those values go together, but I believe they do. Too many criminals are blaming their problems on abusive, or not existant fathers. The mothers that raise them are no role models either. I've had people tell me you can't take away a poor woman's reproductive rights, and I agree to a point, as long as SHE pays for the birth and upbringing of the child. If anyone has a solution, or a different view, I am more than willing to listen.
