I changed things around a bit, and added a few things. It's as new to me as it is to you, but I think it'll work. As usual I'll try to have a variety of topics, but come summer there will be more postings about car events. You can email me at cruisaholic@hotmail.com Keep the shiny side up!

A couple things

Davenport has a higher crime rate than the national average
On this webpage Davenport has a higher crime rate than the national average, in all areas.
Murder is 0.67 times higher than the national average, aggravated assault is 2.52 times higher than the national average, all violent crimes are 2.05 times higher. The site claims these numbers are from the 2003 FBI Report of Offenses Known to Law Enforcement.

homesurfer.com doesn't put us in a good light either.

topix.net has a string going about crime in Davenport with a few people who live here commenting.

So, does my posting these links and figures somehow hurt Davenport's reputation? Am I somehow doing a disservice to this community? I really don't think I post anything that a novice computer user couldn't find in 5 minutes on a search engine if they wished. The other thing is I don't believe that many people read the blog anyway. It is not now, nor has ever been my intention to put Davenport in a bad light. My intention was to point out that there are problems, real or imagined in our community. Regardless of how we hope we are percieved, the information is out there, and I don't believe it helps tourism either.

your postings of crime are getting very boring.

And by the lack of replies, I guess others agree.

Enough is enough

If these posts get read by one surfer, and they get it, I'm happy. Please don't take off your rose colored glasses to read my post.

It's information that needs to be read by the citizens of Davenport. We have all ignored the problem for far too long and its getting worse. We can't find the answers without identifying the problems.
