I changed things around a bit, and added a few things. It's as new to me as it is to you, but I think it'll work. As usual I'll try to have a variety of topics, but come summer there will be more postings about car events. You can email me at cruisaholic@hotmail.com Keep the shiny side up!

Ethanol thoughts

So Ethanol was created to replace menthanol which exudes MTBE. Nothing was said at first about MTBE being worse on the enviroment than emmisions from leaded gas. After it was discovered it's a carcinogen, things changed. But little was mentioned about what it does when released into our streets, lawns, and eventually river. Ethanol is supposed to cheaper than regular unleaded, but only if regular hits $3.00 per gallon. If it's really a cheaper fuel to produce; how come gas prices have to raise to make it so? Ethanol is not as energy efficient as regular unleaded, lowers gas mileage, and is more corrosive to the entire fuel system. On the up side corn is plentiful, but even if every available acre of corn went into ethanol production, it would still only account to about 5% of America's consumption. So, is it really the wonder fuel of the future, or a band-aid fix until technology can find another source of fuel? Or is it as some contend a subsidy to wealthy corn producers, and investors? I don't have the answers, the Iowa Corn Growers Assn. didn't do much to answer questions I do have, and I don't see any sense to ask the Ethanol board. I'll leave it to you to decide, I know which way I'm leaning.

I have also added a link to "some car pictures" to my links.
